About the Lillian Review of Books

I’m a former Classical Studies major (UChicago) and science publisher (PNAS, APA, AGU) groping through the canons of Western literature and science fiction. For now, I have a particular focus on Jewish American literature and New Wave sci-fi, but I read pretty chaotically so I can’t promise any coherence to my reading list. I publish short book reviews, bi-weekly-ish, on Tuesdays.

Once a month I publish a post called Rec Center in which I recommend several things I’m obsessed with—usually movies, music, and recipes. As a former folk music college radio DJ (shoutout to 88.5fm WHPK, the Pride of the Southside) and three-time record label intern (Drag City, Carrot Top, and Smithsonian Folkways) I have tastes that might charitably be described as ‘eclectic;’ weirdos welcome here.

I also write fiction, some of which has been published. My personal website has the links. I’m currently at work on my first science fiction novel.
